Thieves of Marseilles

In 1722 four very famous thieves were arrested for their repeated crimes of looting plague stricken homes, as well as robbing the aimless ill wandering the streets.The big mystery was why they never became ill themselves. They were ordered to be burned at the stake, but the Judge of the day, an odviously wise man, offered to hang them instead, if they would confess their secret of their success. Many versions of “Four Thieves Vinegar” have been recorded. The thieves would have worked with locally available wild plants, as well as those established by the Spice Trade from the Far East. The Herbs would have then been infused in Vinegar, and kerchiefs and clothes were regularly dosed with the blend to prevent infections.

EO’s of Spike Lavender, Bay, Laurel, Camphor Leaf, Rosemary, Juniper Berry, Lemon, Sage, Clove, Thyme, Nutmeg, Cinnamon Bark & Oregano. Use for inhalation and diluted for chest & back rubs, applied neat to the soles of the feet or 2-3 drops with crushed garlic.
